Selecting a planner
Many financial issues are extremely complicated, so it is important that your Financial Planner can explain things to you in a simple, understandable manner. A good Financial Planner will also seek to understand your goals and lifestyle, and will not pressure you into making hasty decisions.
Here Are Four Tips For Selecting A Financial Planner:

  • Do your homework. Write down what you want to achieve financially. Gather all relevant information about your current financial position, including your assets, your debts and your budget.

  • Deal only with licensed Financial Planners. Victoria Teachers Credit Union Financial Planners are licensed with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.

  • Ask questions. Is your Financial Planner qualified and experienced in the areas important to you (e.g. superannuation, taxation or retirement planning)? Do they receive personal commissions for the investments they recommend? Are they putting your needs first?

  • Shop around. Compare the qualifications, integrity and experience of Financial Planners at different organisations.

Why Choose Our Financial Planners?
