01 Dec 2008 - Carl Ridgeway retires
In 1972 T C (Carl) Ridgeway was working at St Kilda Park Primary School. He was aware that community credit unions could play a role in improving the economic life of their members. Consequently Carl was asking the question, ‘Why can’t we do this for teachers?’ Carl set out to convince his sub-branch colleagues of the Victorian Teachers Union of this need. This action helped convince like minded members of the VTU governing council of the day of the importance of such an initiative.
